Background and challenge
The client initially faced multiple challenges building a home in a different community, including delays and design issues. Inspired by Pourya’s own home, the client sought a unique, high-end residence in Mar Vista — the project came with a strict deadline and a need to exceed expectations. Upon reviewing the lot, Pourya recommended reorienting the house to face the ocean, immediately increasing its potential value. The client’s vision included maintaining special natural elements - specifically an existing cactus plant, which Pourya ingeniously brought inside by designing a courtyard around it. The goal was a home that was not only luxurious but deeply personal, with distinctive design touches that reflected the clients’ lifestyle.

Design Process
Understanding the client’s passion for swimming and football, Pourya designed a 20-meter glass-edge pool spacious enough for 40 guests, with strategically positioned interior TVs visible from the outside. The design also featured a large storage area for diving equipment and gear. For the client’s wife, who enjoys barbecuing and outdoor entertaining, a serene zen outdoor space was created. Inspired by the client’s love of Guanacaste trees, a steel decorative motif was incorporated into the entrance gate, blending artistry and nature.
Result and impact
Delivered on time and true to every promise, the project exceeded the owner’s expectations in every way. It also earned a high praise from one of the region’s most experienced realtors, who described the home as unlike any other, a space that evokes a unique feeling.
